At Girls of Impact, we’re wholeheartedly committed to supporting girls globally and the fight for an equal world.
We are a social enterprise for a reason as we want to have a social impact on the world. We have a clear purpose of putting girls ahead, tearing down obstacles and barriers that keep girls from learning and achieving their full potential. We empower young woman to have a positive impact on the world, which is why the impact we are having on the world is just as important.
Girls of Impact donates a percentage of profits to charity partners who are working to create positive change for young women in the world.
Here are just some of the causes Girls of Impact supports. We look forward to sharing our impact with these organisations over the next 12-months.
Its vision is simple: “An Australia where Indigenous and non-Indigenous children have the same education standards and opportunities in life”. The foundation exists to boost school attendance rates in some of Australia’s most remote Aboriginal communities — from early childhood education right through to Year 12. The foundation provides critical classroom resources and connects students with role models in their community. They celebrate students with high attendance by providing access to extracurricular sport and recreational activities. The foundation also offers opportunities for selected students to travel to a capital city for invaluable personal-development and goal-setting workshops.
Founded by student and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, Malala Fund invests in education programmes to help girls go to school and reach their full potential. In many of the world’s poorest and most unstable countries, girls’ education is threatened by risks, which include child marriage, violence, the need to take on domestic work and lack of quality learning. A girl with one year of additional schooling will increase her earnings by a fifth. We know that by giving girls quality education, it prevents child marriage and child labour that keeps women out of the workplace. The Malala Fund invests in local education activists in regions where most girls are missing out on secondary school. They advocate for resources and policy change needed to give all girls secondary education. They amplify girls’ voices and share their stories, so the world knows who they are and what they need.
